Psychopathic Rydas (Bullet). After the release of Dumpin’ but before the release of Ryden Dirtay, it was planned for all 6 members of the Rydas to release solo albums as their respective personas. Although Foe Foe, Twin Gats, and Cell Block’s songs were never released or possibly even recorded, a few tracks did surface from the others.

Psychopathic Rydas is an American hip hop group based in Detroit, Michigan. Formed in 1999, the group consisted of Psychopathic Records-associated rappers performing under alternate stage names in the style of gangsta rap.[1] The group's lineup consisted of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of Insane Clown Posse, Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child of Twiztid, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Anybody Killa, Myzery, Boondox, and Esham.[2] In 2019, the supergroup reunited as “The Rydas” replacing Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope with King Gordy and G-Mo Skee.
History[edit]
Psychopathic Rydas was created as a retaliation to the critics saying Psychopathic Records artists were 'wannabe rappers'. In the linear notes of Insane Clown Posse's album The Amazing Jeckel Brothers fans could find out how to send proof of purchase to Psychopathic Records to get a full-length album titled Dumpin', by a 'gangsta rap spoof' group called Psychopathic Rydas. The album was released on the imprint Joe & Joey Records. From that point on, Rydas albums could not be officially released elsewhere due to the use of unlicensed samples and beats.
Over the next two years, there were plans for the original six members to release solo albums as their respective persona. The Pendulum #7 (which were mini releases related to Insane Clown Posse's comic book series) featured two solo songs by Violent J (Bullet) and one solo song by Shaggy 2 Dope (Full Clip). A solo song by Jamie Madrox (Lil' Shank) was leaked online, and later included on a limited edition boxset by Twiztid in 2019. That same boxset also included a hidden solo song by Monoxide Child (Foe Foe) from these sessions. Solo songs by Blaze Ya Dead Homie (Cell Block) and Myzery (Twin Gatz) never surfaced.
After the release of Dumpin', Myzery (Twin Gatz) had left the group and Psychopathic Records in general. The remaining 5 members released the album Ryden Dirtay at the 2001 Gathering of the Juggalos, just days before the other collaboration album Tales from the Lotus Pod by Dark Lotus came out. Ryden Dirtay is the only Rydas album to appear on the Billboard Independent Albums chart, at #46. Wanting to involve more artists, Rydas added two new members in 2004, being Anybody Killa (Sawed Off) and Esham (Converse). As a sampler, the Limited Edition EP was released. Three out of the four songs would be exclusive to this release. At the 2004 Gathering of the Juggalos, Check Your Shit in Bitch! was released.
Between 2005 and 2007, both Esham (Converse) and Anybody Killa (Sawed Off) had left Psychopathic Records, and thus Rydas as well. Blaze Ya Dead Homie (Cell Block), Violent J (Bullet), Shaggy 2 Dope (Full Clip), Jamie Madrox (Lil' Shank), and Monoxide Child (Foe Foe) were the remaining members of the group yet again, similar to 2001; however, in 2007, they added Boondox (Yung Dirt) to the group. This lineup released the album Duk Da Fuk Down that same year.
It would be 4 years until another Rydas collaboration happened. In 2011, Anybody Killa (Sawed Off) returned to the group. The 7 members released the albums Backdoor Ryda EP and EatShitNDie. This would mark the final releases as a group. In late 2012, Twiztid (Lil' Shank and Foe Foe) and Blaze Ya Dead Homie (Cell Block) would leave Psychopathic Records to eventually form their own label, Majik Ninja Entertainment. Boondox (Yung Dirt) would leave Psychopathic Records in the following years as well. Starting in 2012, the four rappers would still appear at the annual Gathering of the Juggalos, and perform as Psychopathic Rydas as well; however, 2015 would feature the final Rydas performance. 2016 marked the artists' final appearance at the annual event, although the Rydas did not perform at that year's Gathering of the Juggalos.
Insane Clown Posse (Bullet and Full Clip) stated in various interviews that a revival of the Rydas was a possibility, but nothing concrete was ever officially announced; thus, the supergroup is inactive as of 2019.
Later in 2019, Twiztid reunited the supergroup with Blaze Ya Dead Homie and Boondox, adding 2 new members King Gordy and G-Mo Skee under the name “The Rydas”. They have released their self-titled album under Majik Ninja Entertainment in January 9, 2020.[3]
Music and Style[edit]
Psychopathic Rydas reuses the beats of popular rappers within the genre without paying to license the original songs or requesting permission from copyright owners to use the music, effectively making their albums bootlegs[4] and resulting in the releases becoming difficult to find in some markets.[1] Psychopathic Rydas' debut album, Dumpin', was originally given away for correctly answering a series of trivia questions printed in the liner notes of Insane Clown Posse's album, The Amazing Jeckel Brothers.[4]

The Psychopathic Rydas are one of two supergroups, the other being Dark Lotus, associated with Insane Clown Posse and the Psychopathic Records record label, although all their albums were actually released on 'Joe & Joey Records' due to the large amount of unlicensed material on them. All beats for the Rydas music are stolen, or used without permission, from mainstream artists such as Nelly, The Godfather and Cypress Hill. If a lawsuit were ever to be filed against them, they would just close down the label and walk. To date, The Rydas remain free from legal action.

As the Rydas, the artists take on the aliases of Bullet (Violent J), Full Clip (Shaggy 2 Dope), Foe Foe (Monoxide), Lil' Shank (Jamie Madrox), Cell Block (Blaze Ya Dead Homie), and Yung Dirt (Boondox).
Compared to their alter egos on Psychopathic Records, the Rydas are unique in that their music is not horrorcore, but gangsta rap.
In 2000, Myzery left Psychopathic Records, hence removing Twin Gatz from the Rydas lineup. Many believed the group would be weakened because of this, but the group remained stronger than ever. In 2001, their second album was released at the 2nd Gathering and was entitled Ryden Dirtay. It featured the remaining five Rydas and is widely considered to be better than the first album.
Also in 2002, Pendulum #7 from the Pendulum comic books was released, featuring 3 Rydas solo songs: What Rydas Do Fo Money?, by Full Clip, and Who Wanna Flex? & I Don't Wanna Die, by Bullet.
Their third album, Check Your Shit in Bitch!, was released in 2004. This album featured 'Sawed Off' and 'Converse', bringing the Rydas lineup to its highest at 7 members, and featured 13 brand new tracks. Plus, an untitled EP was sold alongside the album at the 2004 Gathering, featuring a song off the album called Scrimps, as well as three exclusive songs. Also, at that year's Gathering the Rydas performed at the Mystery Seminar, minus Converse.
On October 21, 2005, Esham officially left Psychopathic Records, as did Anybody Killa on February 3, 2006, therefore removing Sawed Off and Converse from the lineup.
There are currently 6 members in the group working on a new album in their portable studio while on The Tempest Tour. In a recent interview from Violent J from faygoluvers.net, the title of the new album will be Duk Da Fuk Down, and it is expected to be released sometime in 2007. The new lineup will be Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, Jamie Madrox, Monoxide, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, and at the time newly added Boondox.
In the special Gathering 07' addition of Weekly Freekly Weekly on the scrolling text box says one of the new rydas name is Yung Dirt, pointing to Boondox because of the southern roots and talking bout 'the red dirt looks like blood' from lyrics on his songs.
In July 2007, the new Psychopathic Rydas video for the song Duk Da Fuk Down was released, introducing the new member Yung Dirt (Boondox). The video shows gangsta rap imagery, continuing the classic and known Psychopathic Rydas themes.
